KEYSTONE Reaches Major Milestone with Live Web App Demonstration for Stakeholders
Presentation of the KEYSTONE Web App by Jesús Martínez Cuadrado (Etelätar Innovation).
On 25 February 2026, KEYSTONE partners officially presented the web app to the KEYSTONE stakeholders during an exclusive online webinar, offering stakeholders a comprehensive first look at the smart enforcement digital tool developed within the project. More than 40 participants attended the session, organised by Cefriel, marking a key milestone for the project, as the web app was presented externally for the first time.
The stakeholders, who have been engaged since the early stages of the project, had the opportunity to explore the features, workflows and technical elements of the app, along with its three interfaces:
Driver’s Interface
Port Authority Interface
Road Police Interface
The webinar began with opening remarks by Paulo Cantillano from ICOOR, who provided a brief introduction to the project’s status and the activities carried out to date. The floor was then given to Jesús Martínez from Etelätär Innovation, who explained how the digital solution was designed, co-created and developed within the consortium in order to become a unified platform enabling seamless data exchange between road police, port authorities and drivers through the three dedicated interfaces.
Participants were then introduced to a live demonstration of the web app, showcasing its live operations and highlighting its operational value. The live demonstration generated significant interest among stakeholders, who actively engaged in the discussion. Stakeholders’ questions focused on the main challenges encountered during the development of the web app, data interoperability, as well as scalability and integration with existing enforcement systems. The discussion also centred on the sustainability of the solution and the next steps of the project.
The webinar also featured insights from the two pilots implemented within the project:
Fabrizio Borgogna from Gruber Logistics, who led the road transport pilot, presented the key operational results of the real-world implementation of the KEYSTONE web app. During the pilot, transport data were created once within Gruber’s Transport Management System and automatically shared across interconnected platforms, from eCMR and eFTI systems to KEYSTONE and authorities, eliminating manual data re-entry, duplicate documents, and email or PDF exchanges. As highlighted during the presentation, the pilot introduced a documentless approach, not merely paperless, and showcased how digital compliance can enhance daily transport operations.
Massimo Arnese from CIM Novara Interport, who led the intermodal pilot along the Rotterdam–Novara Rhine-Alpine corridor, presented how real-time and forecast rail data, integrated through Hupac’s WOLF platform and shared via KEYSTONE APIs, simplified compliance operations by enabling smarter, more targeted roadside checks. The pilot tested how the web app functions in real-world conditions, handling 11 train pairs and approximately 300 trucks per day in one of North-West Italy’s most important logistics hubs.
Both pilots verified that the web app has contributed to fewer manual checks, faster gate and delivery processes, improved ETA reliability, reduced administrative workload and full traceability for authorities without additional effort, demonstrating that digital compliance can directly enhance daily road transport operations and pave the way for a scalable, interoperable model across Europe.
Overall, the webinar was a great opportunity for the stakeholders to experience the web app firsthand, gain insight into its methodology and functionality, and recognise its importance. In order to better understand stakeholders’ impressions of the web app, a short questionnaire will be shared with them to collect their feedback and insights.
Finally, stakeholders were invited to attend the KEYSTONE Final Event, which will take place on 19 May 2026 within the framework of TRA2026 and will also feature the SETO project.
