KEYSTONE-FEDeRATED-FENIX-DTLF Initiatives Spearhead Knowledge Exchange at Brussels Workshop

On 07 December 2023, esteemed partners of the KEYSTONE , FEDeRATED and FENIX project consortia, together with experts from ALICE, Digital Transport and Logistics Forum (DTLF) and project officers from CINEA took a prominent role in the recent Knowledge Exchange Workshop held in Belgium, Brussels. All attendees actively participated in discussions, and the workshop served as a vital platform for the partners to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and delve into technical insights gained from their projects.

The workshops agenda offered a diverse and enriching experience, providing a comprehensive overview of advancements in the field. The partners expressed their sincere appreciation to all contributors who played a pivotal role in making the workshop a success. The collaborative spirit cultivated during the event lays a solid foundation for the KEYSTONE consortium to build upon the achievements of its predecessors and upon the great and valuable knowledge of all involved experts.

The workshop commenced with an introduction by Mr. Andrea Condotta, Public affairs, Sustainability & Innovation Director at Gruber Logistics, who also skillfully moderated the discussions. Dr. Katerina Deliali, Project Officer of the KEYSTONE project at CINEA set a positive tone with institutional greetings, followed by Prof. Dr. Mauro Dell’Amico, the coordinator of the KEYSTONE project from University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE) and ICOOR, sharing key insights.

The presentations that followed were equally enlightening, with Mr. Jef Bauwens from the Belgian Ministry of Transport sharing insights into the Plug and Play concept, findings, and needs. Dr. Wout Hofman, representing the Dutch Ministry of Transport, provided valuable perspectives on the FEDeRATED project and its pilot initiatives. Dr. Wout Hofman from TNO delved into the FEDeRATED semantic model and potential applications. Mr. Eusebiu Catana, Senior Manager at ERTICO shed light on the FENIX project, its association, and pilot actions. Dr. Tomas Ambra from ALICE concluded the presentations with B2B examples of Plug & Play and Data Sharing

After that two round tables took place, where all the stakeholders discussed, brainstormed and shared suggestions and ideas on how to leverage all the knowledge acquired so far, as well as the progressions and developments of DTLF, FEDeRATED and FENIX projects. All insights were most valuable for KEYSTONE all will be leveraged and examined, in order to provide in the end tangible, replicable, easy to use and comprehend, scalable and efficient standardized solutions for the law enforcement and logistics sectors of the EU and create a truly seamless, safe, secure and efficient digital ecosystem.

Special recognition goes to Gruber Logistics, a pivotal partner in the KEYSTONE project, for organising the workshop and facilitating the insightful exchange of information and knowledge. The partners eagerly anticipate building on the knowledge gained during this workshop and are enthusiastic about future collaborations that will drive progress in the KEYSTONE project.
